LSD: Dream Emulator Wiki

The Long Hallway is a location in LSD: Dream Emulator. It is an extensive corridor that culminates in an object with the appearance of a room containing three walls, a window and a hanging lamp. There are several doors on one side of the area, none of which have specific links.

Approaching the room at the end of the hallway will result in its walls, floor and ceiling exploding/breaking apart, revealing the blue sky and clouds behind. Afterwards, the player will either be blown away back to the start of the hallway, or sucked out into the sky and linked to The Natural World. Which of these two outcomes will occur is unpredictable, and depends on the current dream's generation.

Objects that link to this location are the Tengu, the child dressed in purple in the pair of Children Tossing a Ball, the tree next to Father and Daughter in The Natural World, and the sky picture on the third floor of the Bright Moon Cottage. There may be more ways to access this location that aren't documented.

The right part of the empty wall at the beginning of the hallway will link the player to Bright Moon Cottage.

Spawn locations[]

The player can spawn:

  • On the ground
  • Halfway in the floor
  • Halfway in the ceiling
  • Halfway in the floor and in front of the explosive room at the end, inevitably triggering the event if they are looking towards it.

Trivia[]

  • Machine translators can mistranslate "hallway" as "corridor", which is incorrect given the context.
  • There are exactly 52 doors in the area.
  • The player can start a dream here, although it is a rare occurrence as the graph's current marker must be on either one of these coordinates: (-4,-7), (4,-7), or (5,-7).
  • This location reuses normal textures from the Bright Moon Cottage.
  • The blue sky as well as the moving clouds that appear behind the explosive room are both actually a single object. The location's real sky is always white.
  • The blue sky and moving clouds behind the explosive room remain hidden until the player interacts with the room, resulting in the area's real sky being visible through the window.
    • If the player is blown away after interacting with the room, they can see the sky and clouds will remain visible, which can later be appreciated through the room's window and even in the distance as the area unrenders in both sides of the hallway.
  • The explosive room cannot be interacted with if the player is looking upwards.
    • By walking into the room while looking upwards, the player will eventually touch an invisible wall that prevents them from going further underneath the lamp. The invisible wall itself can actually be linked with like any regular wall, but has no specific link whatsoever.
  • The explosive room seems to detect if the player is about to collide with the wall on the right upon interaction, as they will always send the player back to the beginning.
  • The entire area (except the end of the hallway) seems to be inside some sort of bigger "duplicate" of itself, except the walls and ceiling are completely black. Why it exists is apparently unknown.
    • Its ceiling and walls can be seen when spawning through the normal hallway's ceiling.
    • The "black bars" that appear over the walls with the doors when walking and facing towards the end of the hallway, are actually the black walls of the "duplicated" area that are partially visible. This is due to a Z-fighting effect, which looks unusual because of the Playstation's graphics hardware.
    • With the use of external software tools, it is possible to walk on its floor which actually has footstep sounds programmed into it, and touch its walls which can also be linked with.
