LSD: Dream Emulator Wiki
Mainmenu

The Main Menu of LSD: Dream Emulator is available at the start of every new game day.

It is completed in minimalistic style with minor details (LSD logo, some circles containing several representations of the LSD 'Linen' trophy).

The main color of the menu is deep dark blue [RGB: 26, 8, 69], secondary - yellow / white. The menu always displays the next following game day, as well as several options to start the game, save or load stored save file, or access the dream chart. The main menu also allows the player to toggle head-bobbing (camera shake effect) while walking. If the player uses an internal save/load system, an ID of the save file will be displayed left to the Day counter (view image provided).

By idling for more than 10 seconds in the Main Menu, a 'semi-random' additional intro video may be activated. This rerolls the generation value.

Menu contents[]

  • Start: launches the dream sequence, starts the game.
  • Flashback: an initially hidden option. Appears after several completed in-game days. Flashback unlocks and becomes available as soon as enough 'memorable' events have been observed and enough object/chunk values have been stored. Allows to rewatch most memorable moments from past dreams.
  • Save: allows the player to save current game progress. Requires a memory card to be inserted. Saves the chart data and 'CURRENT_DAY' values.
  • Load: allows to load saved game files from the memory card. Rerolls the generation value.
  • Graph: displays stored past dream scores as well as the following spawn position scored from the last completed dream. Also known as the Chart.
  • Shake (on/off): allows to toggle camera shake effect while walking.

Trivia[]

  • The current day counter label may change its color after every completed day, though this does not indicate anything.
  • The main menu options and current day display are one of the only words written on english in the whole game. Some other examples include Happy Town secret texture messages, the word "Love", the Graph axis labels, the Jay graffiti, and the intro videos 'LSD' abbreviation meanings, used in the game.
  • Every dialogue window text in the Main Menu is written on Japanese, while their activators or confirmation variants - on English.
