LSD: Dream Emulator Wiki

The Dream is a completely unique and nonrandom game session in LSD: Dream Emulator. Most dreams of the game feature unique interactive gameplay, allowing the player to explore the dreamscape of LSD, however, a very small number of in-game days will be unplayable and show either a screen of text or start a video dream.

Generally, each playable dream lasts from 1 minute to 10, however, in some occasions longer dreams are possible. During the interactive dream, the player is able to explore the dream world of LSD: Dream Emulator. Each day has a unique setting for your dream, and it will be formed from all of your previous decisions. Each dream is generated by the game's algorithm which gives the player an opportunity to replicate any dream in other playthroughs as many times as wanted.

Features of the dream[]

On the very first day, your dream will start on the top floor of the Bright Moon Cottage. After the dream has started, you're able to explore the dreamscape the way you want. The game will record all your actions to generate future dreams, including the choices made in the main menu of the game. There are billions of possible dreams and combinations of actions and events in the game.

Depending on all of your observations, the rating at the end of the dream on the chart will determine where you'll spawn in the next dream. The dreams will often vary in time depending on location, as the instruction booklet explains that scary places will end the dream quicker than peaceful places.

There are also some unplayable days, with no playable dreams. Instead, it will be a video or a text dream. These days were pre-programmed; the very first unplayable days are Day 002, 007, 014 & 015.

Although the dream will end eventually because of the time-out, it's possible to end a dream early by "dying"; some ways include falling, getting mauled by lions, dogs, or being shot.

Setting[]

Each day/dream has a specific setting for every area. The sky & fog are pre-set for each day. For example, on Day 1, Bright Moon Cottage will always have a bright white sky. The placement and presence of objects is usually pre-set with Day Type mechanic, but in rarer cases spawning will be dependent on player's decisions. After several in-game days, textures will start changing everywhere. Music will accompany every scene in the game, as player explores and studies the world of LSD.

Change in Dreams[]

Even though each day has settings pre-set for each dream, many aspects of the game will change depending on what the player does. The game takes note of how the player explores, what's been linked with, the time, and a number of other factors. The chart rating and linking process are the most notable examples of player-driven change. Rare events, such as the Astronaut landing in Bright Moon Cottage are also happening because of every decision the player made.
